Documentary about Justine Masika Bihambo, winner of the Human Rights Defenders Tulip Award 2008
Congo has been ravaged by war for the last decade. Millions have died. Sexual violence against women is one of the weapons
which the warring parties use against their opponents. Thousands of women Congo have been physically and mentally scarred for life.
Justine Masika Bihamba has been supporting these women since the conflicts started in the early '90s. In December 2008 she received the Human Rights Defenders Tulip award for her work. This film portrays Justine and the work ofher organization - Synergy for Women Victims or Sexual Violence - based in Goma, North Kivu Province, Eastern DRC.
